Home care in
Groton, CT.
Groton runs from the Thames River to the Mystic River, taking in Noank, Groton Long Point and the Groton side of Mystic, and Golden Touch is now accepting families across all of it.

Lawrence + Memorial Hospital on Montauk Avenue in New London is under eight miles by road from Groton Town Hall, across the Thames on the Gold Star Memorial Bridge. Inside Groton, Complete Care at Groton Regency on Poquonnock Road and Fairview's campus on Lestertown Road both offer short-term rehab. Golden Touch does not work inside any of those buildings. Our part starts at the front door once your parent is home: help with bathing and dressing, meals they will actually eat, laundry, errands, reminders through the day, and company. Groton is a new area for us, so if a discharge date is already set, give it to us when you first call. We will tell you then whether a caregiver is ready or still has to be found, and about how long that will take.
Groton grew outward from its waterfronts, and the town's own housing plan says the oldest and most densely built neighborhoods are in the City of Groton, Noank, Groton Long Point and Mystic. The older part of the City mixes single-family houses with two- and three-family houses and apartment buildings, while much of the land north of I-95 is still rural. Noank sits on a small, steep peninsula at the mouth of the Mystic River, with winding lanes, and Groton Long Point is mostly a summer place, with nearly every house full from late May through September. Each of those changes a shift in its own way: steep streets and older houses in Noank, a much busier summer at the Point, longer drives between houses up north. Groton is also home to Naval Submarine Base New London and the Electric Boat shipyard. If the home is inside the base gates, federal entry rules apply, so a caregiver's access has to be arranged before the first visit.
The Groton Senior Center is on Newtown Road, and the town now runs its programs there under the name Thrive 55+. A caregiver can drive your parent there and either stay or come back at the end. The Groton Housing Authority runs two complexes for elderly and disabled residents, Pequot Village on Village Lane and Grasso Gardens on Governors Circle, and in an apartment like those a visit can center on meals, laundry, company and rides. In Noank, Mystic River Homes runs the Cottages and the Congregate on Elm Street. At the Congregate, a noon meal and weekly light housekeeping already come with the apartment, so a caregiver's hours can go to the mornings, the evenings and the errands instead.
Getting to Groton
Groton Town Hall on Fort Hill Road is 50.9 miles from our Park Street office, about 72 minutes on clear roads, out Route 2, down Route 11 and Route 85, then over the Thames on I-95. That is well over an hour each way, and we would rather say so up front.

Questions from Groton families.
Groton is more than an hour from Hartford. Do you really cover it, including Noank and the Groton side of Mystic?
Yes. We are now accepting families across Groton, from the City of Groton and Poquonnock Bridge out to Noank, Groton Long Point and West Mystic. Groton is new ground for us, and at this distance we may need to recruit a caregiver for your parent's hours before visits can begin. So on the first call we will give you a realistic start date, not a hopeful one. Request a free consultation on (860) 393-1055.
How soon can a caregiver start in Groton?
Groton is newer ground for us, so we do not quote a start time before we have talked. On the first call we will tell you plainly how soon a caregiver can be in place for the hours you need, and if we cannot cover them, we will say so and point you to someone who can.
What does in-home care cost in Groton?
Cost depends on the hours and level of care. Most families pay privately; long-term care insurance, VA benefits and Medicaid can help. You get a clear quote on your first call.
Can you provide 24-hour or live-in care in Groton?
Live-in and around-the-clock care are part of what we offer, from one dedicated caregiver. For Groton, tell us the hours you need on the first call and we will tell you honestly whether we can staff them.
Are your caregivers screened and insured?
Every caregiver is background-checked, bonded, insured and trained, and supervised by our Care Coordinator. If the match is not right, we re-match at no charge.
