Our mission

Growing older should happen
at home.

Our mission is to improve the lives of our clients, and that is the engine that drives the agency forward. We provide comprehensive, quality care in our client’s own residence, centred on the person and their family.

We are non-medical by design. We focus on the human side of care: the bathing, dressing, meals, companionship and routines that let someone stay safely in the home they love, always coordinated with their physicians and care team.

Who we are

Family-run, and
accountable for every visit.

Founded in 2020 and run by the two people whose names are on it.

Dean D. Wilson

President and CEO

Josette Hill-Wilson

Director and CFO

Golden Touch has cared for families across Greater Hartford for six years, with more than 20 years of caregiving experience behind it. Dean and Josette are both published authors on home care. We are a licensed, bonded and insured Connecticut homemaker and companion agency, Reg. No. HCA.0001908, and every caregiver is background-checked, trained and supervised by our Care Coordinator.

What it costs

What shapes the price
of care at home.

Every family's situation is different, so we give you an exact figure on the first call. Four things move that number.

Hours

How many hours a week

From a few hours of company to around the clock. Hours are the single biggest factor, and you can adjust the schedule at any time.

Level

The level of care

Companionship and errands sit at one end, hands-on personal care with bathing and transfers at the other.

Nights

Overnight or live-in

Waking overnight cover and live-in support are priced differently from daytime visits, because they are a different commitment.

Minimum

A four-hour minimum

Every visit is booked for at least four hours, so a caregiver has time to do the job properly rather than rushing out again.

You will never be surprised by a figure you did not agree to. After a free in-home consultation you get a clear quote, and the schedule can change whenever life does.

Ways to pay

Four ways families
cover the cost.

Private payLong-term care insuranceVA benefitsMedicaid

Insurance coverage and prior authorisation are subject to verification, and we will walk you through exactly what applies to your family.

Are you a discharge planner or case manager? Full rates and insurance details are on the referrals page.

Not the same thing

Home care vs.
home health.

Families use the terms interchangeably, but they are billed, staffed and ordered differently. Golden Touch provides the first.

The people we serve

Six years of ordinary days,
kept ordinary.

Not a facility, not a schedule on a clipboard. Someone's kitchen, someone's garden, someone's favourite chair.

We send more than caregivers. We send good listeners, gentle hands, people who notice the small things: the favorite teacup, the afternoon light, the stories told twice and loved twice.

It depends on the hours and the level of care, from a few companionship hours a week to live-in support. We give you a clear, exact figure on your first call, with no hidden fees.

What can we pay with?

Most families pay privately. We also accept long-term care insurance, VA benefits and Medicaid, subject to verification.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Yes, a four-hour minimum per visit. Beyond that you can schedule as much or as little as you need, and adjust at any time.

How quickly can care start?

Often within 24 hours of your first call, and we can move faster for a hospital discharge.

What if the caregiver is not the right fit?

We re-match at no charge until you are fully satisfied. Personality fit matters as much as skill.
